Born in 1998 in Toronto, Canadian-Ukrainian pianist Anastasia Rizikov dazzled the international scene at the age of seven by winning the Vladimir Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kyiv. On this occasion, she made her debut with the Kyiv Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since then, she has amazed audiences and juries alike, competing with musicians more than twice her age and receiving top honors in numerous international piano competitions.
Anastasia’s vast repertoire — over 25 concertos — has allowed her to perform countless times with orchestras throughout the world. Her solo repertoire, mainly centered on 19th and 20th century music as well as Slavic music, has been performed at various festivals and concert halls. She recorded her first album with Naxos Records in December 2016.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Anastasia has raised 30,000 euros for humanitarian aid by giving concerts of Ukrainian music in Canada and France. She continues her commitment to the Ukrainian people by promoting her country’s rich culture and performing pieces by its great composers.
In June 2022, she became a laureate of the Fondation Banque Populaire and the Fondation Gautier Capuçon.
Ritmo magazine in Spain wrote in 2015: “We have discovered an exceptional young pianist. Some jurors speak of her as the new Martha Argerich…”
