Italian violinist Clarissa made her debut at Chicago’s Pritzker Pavilion in front of ten thousand people at the age of nine. Her virtuosity and profound musicality received international acclaim with the release of her debut album, Dream Catcher, recommended by critics such as Gramophone magazine and The Strad for her “luminously elevated” and “elegant and agile” playing.
As a soloist, Clarissa has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra during Mozartwoche 2023.
She also excels in chamber music, notably with the trio she forms with Giovanni Sollima and Carlotta Maestrini, with whom she recorded the innovative album Short trio stories, exploring a repertoire ranging from classical to rock.
As Artistic Director of Salzburg’s Dynamikfest, Clarissa is committed to promoting contemporary chamber music by showcasing young international talent. She has won several prestigious competitions, including first prize at the Salzburg International Mozart Competition, as well as other distinctions such as grand prize at the Cape Symphony Violin Concerto Competition.
Clarissa was chosen at the age of 14 to play regularly with the Stradivari collection at the Cremona Violin Museum. Bachelor of Music with first class honours at just sixteen, she continued her studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Pierre Amoyal and at the Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ in Berlin with Antje Weithaas, consolidating her reputation as an outstanding and innovative performer in the world of classical music.
