Shicong Li, born in 2002 in southern China, discovered a passion for music at an early age. He began playing the cello at the age of 8.
In 2015, Shicong Li entered the pre-college program at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where he studied under Yibing Chu. In 2019, he joined Jérôme Pernoo’s class at the Paris Conservatory of Music and Dance.
He regularly participates in master classes and academies, where he has benefited from the guidance of Clemens Hagen, Philippe Muller, Gary Hoffmann, Xenia Jankovic, and many others. In 2024, he joined the Académie Jaroussky in Anne Gastinel’s class.
Shicong is also passionate about chamber music. He founded the Oxymore trio with Masaki Morishita on violin and Madoka Okada on piano. Together, they won first prize at the Fnapec competition in 2025 and are currently artists in residence at ProQuartet. He is continuing his studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg in Clemens Hagen’s class.
