Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2005 into a family of musicians, Sofie Leifer began playing the violin at the age of four. At the age of eight, she joined the preparatory class at the Maastricht Conservatory under the tutelage of Boris Belkin. In 2016, she continued her pre-college training at the Crea music school in Seville, where she studied under her mother, Katerina Leifer. From the age of ten, she also benefited from the guidance of Professor Zakhar Bron in Interlaken.

Since September 2024, Sofie has been studying at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU) with Svetlana Makarova, while also receiving guidance from the renowned Eduard Wulfson in Geneva. Sofie Leifer has won several first prizes in prestigious international competitions: the 14th Wieniawski-Lipiński International Competition (Lublin, Poland), the 17th International Television Competition The Nutcracker (Moscow, Russia), the 13th International Competition Young Virtuosos (Sofia, Bulgaria), and the 2nd Rotary Club Marbella Music Competition (Spain).

Sofie has performed as a soloist with internationally renowned orchestras such as the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra (Saint Petersburg, Russia), National Symphony Orchestra (Moscow, Russia), Royal Orchestra of Seville (Spain), Kaliningrad Philharmonic Orchestra (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra, and the Interlaken Classics Festival Orchestra (Switzerland).

Sofie has participated in masterclasses at prestigious academies, including: the Chigiana Academy (Siena, Italy), the Mozarteum University Summer Academy (Salzburg, Austria), the Interlaken Academy (Switzerland), the Daniel Hope Academy (Schloss Neuhardenberg, Germany), and the Tibor Varga Academy (Sion, Switzerland). She has also worked with eminent teachers such as Pavel Vernikov and Svetlana Makarova during sessions in Barcelona, Vienna, and Sion.

Sofie has been invited to perform at numerous international festivals: Moscow Meets Friends (Russia), InClassica (Dubai, United Arab Emirates), and Interlaken Classics (Switzerland). In May 2024, Sofie became the youngest participant in the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. In August 2024, she reached the finals of an international competition in London. In November 2024, she distinguished herself in the finals of the Dubai Classics Violin Competition. Sofie plays an exceptional Italian violin, made by Spiritus Sorsana in 1730, generously loaned by a private sponsor.
