The youngest winner of the first grand prize, as well as 10 special prizes, at the 2019 Karol Lipinski International Violin Competition in Poland, German-Spanish-Malaysian violinist Elias David Moncado is, according to Anne-Sophie Mutter, “one of the greatest talents of his generation”.
He has won numerous international competitions, including first prize at the Valsesia musica and Vladimir Spivakov competitions in 2021, as well as the youngest winner prize at the Sendai violin competition in 2019. He is also a prizewinner at the Louis Spohr Competition in Weimar, the Postacchini Competition in Fermo and the Morocco Orchestra Competition. In 2023, he will tour as soloist with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto under the baton of Sascha Goetzel and Nayden Todorov in Bulgaria, Austria and Germany.
Elias David Moncado has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Göttinger Symphonieorchester, the Freiburger Philharmoniker, and the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed with conductors such as Vladimir Spivakov, Ken Takaseki, Fabrice Bollon, Nicolás Pasquet, Heiko Mathias Förster and Ryusuke Numajiri. He has performed on RBB Berlin, WDR Köln, France Musique, France 3, SWR2 and BR Klassik.
His critically acclaimed debut CD was released in 2022 by Avi-Music, featuring works by Hindemith, Poulenc and Bartók. Elias David Moncado has been studying at the Kronberg Academy with Professor Mihaela Martin since autumn 2023. He plays a violin by Giambattista Rogeri of Brescia (circa 1700) and a G.B. Guadagnini (Turin, circa 1771).
