Born in Chengdu, China, in 2004, Victor studied piano with Professor Yang Yang at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music from the age of 12. He is currently studying at the Music Academy of Lübeck with Professor Florian Uhlig.
He has also attended numerous master classes with prestigious pianists, including Arie Vardi, Hung-Kuan Chen, Vladimir Viardo and Alexander Schimpf.
Victor was selected to participate in the Geneva International Competition 2022. That same year, he was the youngest semi-finalist in the Leipzig International Bach Competition 2022. “For me, Bach’s music is like a white paper. It is my tool to express feelings,” he said.
He won the 2nd prize in the 2022 International Grand Masters Piano Competition and the
first prize in the 2022 Gustav Mahler Piano Competition. He was unanimously praised by the jury for his interpretation of Bach’s works. “His interpretation of Bach’s works brought tears to my eyes with his unique personal style and high appreciation and mastery of Bach’s music,” said one of his teachers.
Victor’s musical exploration includes not only solo piano, but also chamber music and cello. At the age of 13, he began studying cello with Professor Fan Zhang and has participated in numerous concerts and competitions. Most notably, he won the second prize in the 8th Sichuan Conservatory of Music Ensemble Competition 2019.
