Duru Erdoğan was born in Turkey in 2004. She studied at the Bilkent University Junior Music School before being awarded a full scholarship to attend The Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK, where she studied with Marcel Baudet from 2017 to 2022. During this time, she regularly performed as both a soloist and chamber musician across the UK, the Netherlands, and on tour in Scotland, with appearances at Kings Place in London and The Menuhin Hall.
She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, under the guidance of Prof. Eldar Nebolsin. In 2025, she received 2nd Prize at the International Robert Schumann Competition in Düsseldorf and was selected to take part in the Encuentro de Música y Academia de Santander. She is also a scholarship holder at the Musikakademie in Liechtenstein, where she participated in the Intensive Music Weeks with Prof. Claudio Martínez Mehner.
Duru has received several international awards, including 1st Prize at the Franz Liszt Center Competition, the London Classical Music Competition, the Spotlight International Competition, and the Young Pianist of the North, as well as 2nd Prize at the Beecham Piano Competition. In 2022, she was chosen as a Category Finalist in BBC Young Musician.
She has performed as a soloist with the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra and the Kölner Kammerorchester, and taken part in festivals and academies such as the PianoDuo Festival Amsterdam and Chamber Lab Montecastelli. She has also participated in masterclasses with pianists including Olga Pashchenko, Edith Fischer, and Artur Pizarro.
